Flux - Film Festival
2025
Materials: Brand Identity, Motion & Video, Print & Digital
Role
Designer
Flux is a science fiction film festival brand built around the idea of change. Like a wavelength shifting in frequency, Sci-fi films span across different visual terrains, from high tech futures and digital systems to isolated desert landscapes and dystopian worlds. While the aesthetics evolve, the emotional core remains constant with shared themes of journey, curiosity, fear, and hope.
This concept extends across a full visual system including posters, motion graphics, trailers, environmental signage, lanyards, and merchandise. To demonstrate the range of the identity, I selected Blade Runner and Dune as contrasting case studies. Each represents a distinct tone, one defined by a neon futurism and the other by vast desert minimalism.
Dune
The posters and video content promote Dune as its own cinematic universe while clearly situating it inside the larger Flux identity. Rather than feeling like standalone movie marketing, the materials frame Dune as part of a curated festival narrative centered on scale and transformation. This approach allows the film’s atmosphere to remain intact while reinforcing both simultaneously.
Blade Runner
This poster promotes a back to back feature screening of Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 within the festival. It brings together the bleak, rain-soaked atmosphere of the original with the expanded scale and world of the sequel, positioning them together as two chapters of a single cinematic experience.
Merch & Passes
Merchandise and screening passes centered around the festival’s identity and the films it’s premiering.

AI Exploration
With the rapid growth and advancement of AI tools, I leveraged Adobe Firefly to quickly generate and iterate on sci fi environments and themes.
Quick ideation helped me test different themes efficiently while keeping the core identity cohesive and intentional.
